For a few minutes, bright sunshine lifts the spirits of marchers as they gather under a variety of banners, waiting for the signal to begin the procession. The message on one banner calls for solidarity with the Black Panthers, a group in the United States.
And then the marchers move out. A traffic policeman may be seen in his white raincoat in the intersection behind the marchers. This demonstration had a parade permit.
